Signs of Life

I was raised in a family led by parents who valued books. We had a library in our home. Not the luxurious, oak-paneled one that most of us imagine when we think “home library” but a room with a complete wall of shelves that held the books that would fit, while the other books overflowed into every other room (except maybe the kitchen and dining room). Some of these books were leather bound, but even the most humble was considered a valued addition to our home.

This is no doubt where I fell in love with stories, and words, and their beauty and meaning. Long before I traveled physically, I lived, loved, fought, and played in every era in some of the most exotic places on the globe and beyond.

I believe ideas shape our world and the words that are a vehicle to move those ideas from one mind to another carry an innate magic of their own.

Coastal Mojo is my attempt to convey the sense that there’s a special magic to be found where the four elements of earth, air, fire and water meet. Toes in the sand, wind in your hair, sun on your face and the ocean waiting to hold you weightless and wash all your cares away even if for just a short time.
